THE THING THAT'S KILLING ME (2023)
📅
29.06.-02.07.2023
📍
Lichthof Theater (Hamburg)
In The Things That's Killing Me, Glitch AG clambers up, storms and rebels against a world made of spaces, structures and objects that, disconcertingly often, fails to include women*: from the size of mobile phones to a lack of toilets in public space, insufficient research data on heart attacks to airbags that kill instead of saving lives. In a performance devoid of text and speech, the three performers of Glitch AG treat nonverbally of the way in which their three bodies relate to such abjections. For this, they dive into a surreal world made of measures, forms, colours and materials that have them caught in impractical garments, labouring against the enemies of female* bodies. From all this clambering, displacing, layering, toiling and rethinking arises a choreography of objects and abjections, which reveals their everyday insufficiency. This choreography is accompanied by a live-soundtrack that blends different instruments, voices and sounds on site.
